Oscar De La Hoya Says Dana White Feud Kept Him Away From Ryan Garcia Fight

Oscar De La Hoya says he chose not to attend Ryan Garcia’s WBC welterweight fight against Conor Benn because he feared being publicly embarrassed at an event promoted by Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing. Garcia stopped Benn in the second round in Las Vegas. De La Hoya said his attendance could have become a distraction and shifted attention from his fighter’s victory. White rejected the claim, saying De La Hoya had tickets and access to the VIP area. He said he would have told De La Hoya directly if he was not welcome at the event.
