Awoniyi Scores and Assists as Coventry Beat Plymouth 4-2 in Carabao Cup
Taiwo Awoniyi scored his first goal for Coventry City and provided an assist in their 4-2 away win over Plymouth in the Carabao Cup second round. The Nigerian forward opened the scoring in the third minute before setting up Jack Rudoni two minutes later. Plymouth fought back to level the match at 2-2 through Oliver Irow and Xavier Amaechi. Ephron Mason-Clark restored Coventry’s lead in the 67th minute, while Peter Torp sealed the victory from the penalty spot. Frank Onyeka was not included in Coventry’s matchday squad.
