COOU Dismisses Professors and Senior Staff for Sexual Harassment and Extortion

The Governing Council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University met on June 12 and approved the dismissal of five senior staff for gross misconduct. Those affected include Prof. C. C. Nwabachili, Prof. Chike Osegbue, Dr. I. H. Iheukwumere, Mr. Emeka Nwabunnia and Mrs. Ifeoma Kakulu. The allegations range from sexual abuse, harassment and intimidation to extortion and other ethical breaches. The council reaffirmed its commitment to uphold discipline and integrity. It warned that any action tarnishing the university’s reputation would face severe consequences as it works toward a safe, accountable and forward-thinking campus.
