Bazuaye Calls for Early Planning and Bigger Roles for 1985 Golden Eaglets

Former Super Eagles winger Baldwin Bazuaye says Nigeria’s national teams need stronger planning, earlier coaching appointments and better use of local talent before foreign-based players are invited. He blamed poor administration and rushed preparations for the struggles of the Super Eagles, Super Falcons and youth teams. According to him, coaches should have months or even years to build competitive squads ahead of qualifiers and major tournaments. Bazuaye also urged football authorities to give members of Nigeria’s 1985 Golden Eaglets World Cup-winning squad more prominent roles in coaching and football administration. He argued that their experience should not be overlooked as Nigerian football seeks a revival.
