Arteta Confirms Hincapie and Zubimendi Will Miss Arsenal’s Lille Clash

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Piero Hincapie and Martin Zubimendi will miss Arsenal’s Champions League match against Lille after sustaining injuries in a post-match training session following the win over Leeds United. The Arsenal manager said both players will undergo further scans to determine the extent of the injuries. He suggested Hincapie’s issue may be more serious, while admitting the timing is far from ideal ahead of a crucial European fixture. Arteta defended the decision to hold the session, explaining that players who had limited minutes needed to maintain their match rhythm. William Saliba is also still being carefully managed as he builds fitness, with his return expected to take several more weeks.
