Unsafe Sex, HIV Testing and the Risks Facing Married Couples
I am concerned about unsafe sex and the risk it creates for married couples. HIV is manageable with proper treatment, but prevention, testing and honest communication remain essential. A recent viral interview with a sex worker made me reflect on reports of clients requesting unprotected sex. No group should be broadly labelled as living with HIV without evidence, but anyone who has unprotected sex can put themselves and their partners at risk. Married couples should prioritise regular testing, safer sex and open conversations about sexual health. Protecting one’s spouse must come before secrecy or risky behaviour.
