The Deputy Inspector-General of Police for ICT and the Southwest zone, DIG Adegoke Fayoade, kicked off his security tour in Ibadan. He met with Governor Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, to strengthen collaborations between the police, government, traditional leaders, and local communities. At the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters, the DIG spoke to officers about professionalism, discipline, and intelligence-led policing. He highlighted the force’s growing use of advanced digital tools to combat crime and improve public safety across the region. Fayoade assured residents that technology is already deployed in the operation to rescue pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire LGA. He stressed that intelligence sharing and community participation remain vital for a safe and swift release. The ongoing Southwest tour will visit all six states to assess operations, engage key stakeholders, and foster public confidence in a proactive, tech-driven approach to security.
