Aymeric Laporte has praised Pep Guardiola’s tactical ability while criticising his approach to personal relationships with players. Speaking on a football podcast, the former Manchester City defender said Guardiola is “one of the best in football” tactically but “perhaps the worst” in interpersonal relationships. Laporte spent five-and-a-half years at City, winning 13 major trophies after joining from Athletic Bilbao in 2018. His playing time reduced in his final seasons as injuries and competition for places increased, before he left for Al-Nassr in 2023.
