Victor Osimhen Named Nigerian Baller of the Week After Goal and Assist for Galatasaray
Victor Osimhen has been named Nigerian Baller of the Week after scoring and assisting in Galatasaray’s 3-2 win over Goztepe. With Galatasaray trailing early, Osimhen helped turn the match around. He produced a backheel assist for Gabriel Sara in the 55th minute, then converted a penalty eight minutes later to make it 3-1. The Super Eagles forward now has five goals and two assists in his first three matches of the 2026/27 season. Goztepe pulled one back late on, but Galatasaray held on for the win. Other Nigerians who impressed included Kelechi Iheanacho, Ademola Lookman and Akpe Victory, but Osimhen’s decisive contribution earned him the weekly honour.
