Jos Communities Awarded N1m for Protecting Neighbours Across Faiths
Residents of Anguwan Rogo and Anguwan Rukuba in Jos received a total of N1 million for shielding Christians and Muslims during recent violence. Last week, gunmen attacked Anguwan Rukuba, but locals stepped in to save several Muslims and handed them over safely to security agencies. Days later, after the curfew was lifted, residents of Anguwan Rogo protected Christian neighbours when fresh unrest erupted. Former House member Hon. Gwani Muhammad Adam Alkali was moved by this act of solidarity and awarded each community N500,000. Blessed Geoffrey said they acted out of humanity, while Muhammad Sulaiman emphasised that a human being is a human being, regardless of faith.
