The Anambra State Government has approved ₦500 million for major medical equipment and the accreditation of critical departments at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka. The hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Dr. Maureen Umeakuewulu, disclosed this during the review of the institution’s 2025 financial year by the Anambra State House of Assembly Public Account Committee. She said the funding will support ongoing reforms aimed at improving healthcare services and positioning the teaching hospital as a centre of excellence for Anambra and neighbouring states. Management also pledged to implement its 2026 budget in line with approved provisions and address issues raised during the review.
