Chris Smalling Joins FC Porto on Free Transfer Until 2027

Former Manchester United and Roma defender Chris Smalling has joined FC Porto on a free transfer after leaving Saudi Pro League club Al-Fayha. The 36-year-old English centre-back has signed a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option for another year. He made 67 appearances for Al-Fayha following his move from Roma in 2024. Smalling brings extensive experience to Porto, having won two Premier League titles with Manchester United and the Europa Conference League with Roma. The move provides defensive cover for Porto after injuries within Francesco Farioli’s squad.
