Barcelona have confirmed that Gavi suffered only a bruise to his right knee after leaving their 5-0 opening-day win over Elche in tears. The midfielder’s exit raised fears because he has previously suffered serious injuries to the same knee, including an ACL rupture and a medial meniscus tear. Medical tests, however, found no major damage. Barcelona say Gavi is expected to return to training soon and could be available for Thursday’s home match against Athletic Club.
