Ikhana Urges Super Eagles to Turn World Cup Disappointment into AFCON Qualifying Drive
Former Nigeria defender Kadiri Ikhana has urged the Super Eagles to use their failure to reach the 2026 World Cup as motivation when they begin their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign against Madagascar in Uyo on 25 September. Ikhana believes Nigeria have the quality to beat Madagascar but expects a tougher test away to Guinea-Bissau four days later. He said the players must show commitment, focus and determination as fans look for a response after recent disappointments. Nigeria are in Group L with Madagascar, Guinea-Bissau and Tanzania. The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
