South Park Creators Explain Delay to Kendrick Lamar-Produced Movie

The musical comedy from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, produced with Kendrick Lamar’s pgLang, has been delayed indefinitely after being removed from Paramount’s release schedule. The film was first expected in July 2025, later shifted to March 2026, and has now lost its official release date. Parker and Stone said commitments to South Park and personal circumstances slowed production, while accepting responsibility for the delay. Reportedly titled Whitney Springs, the film follows a young Black man who clashes with a mayor over a historical slave plantation museum in the American Midwest. The project is expected to feature new music from Kendrick Lamar and has a reported budget of more than $100 million. The filmmakers say they are still working to complete the movie, but Paramount has not announced a new cinema release date.
