NNPCL Stations Yet to Reflect Proposed ₦1,350 Petrol Price Two Weeks Later
Two weeks after a proposed petrol price of ₦1,350 per litre was announced for NNPCL retail outlets, stations in Abuja and nearby areas have yet to reflect the reduction. Checks at several outlets found pump prices around ₦1,405 per litre, up from about ₦1,370 per litre before the announcement. Other filling stations were reportedly selling between ₦1,395 and ₦1,429 per litre. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria said the proposed reduction would offer relief to motorists and urged that any discounted price be extended to independent marketers. The development has renewed debate over fuel pricing and subsidy policy ahead of the 2027 election.
