Why Some African Fans Rank Lewandowski, Suárez and Benzema Above Samuel Eto’o

Why do some African football fans place Robert Lewandowski, Luis Suárez and Karim Benzema clearly above Samuel Eto’o in all-time striker debates? Eto’o is one of Africa’s greatest footballers and has a case that deserves serious respect. He won four UEFA Champions League titles with Barcelona and Inter Milan, two AFCON titles, Olympic gold, four African Player of the Year awards, and remains AFCON’s all-time top scorer. This is not about supporting Eto’o only because he is African. It is about acknowledging his achievements, big-game record, goals and overall quality. Lewandowski, Suárez and Benzema are outstanding players, but I do not believe they are far ahead of Eto’o.
