Federal Government Opens Applications for 18 VCN Programme Jobs in Abuja

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has opened applications for 18 roles under the Value Chain for Northern Nigeria (VCN) Programme. The programme, supported by IFAD and the French Development Agency, aims to improve incomes, food security and resilience for smallholder farmers across nine northern states. Vacancies include National Programme Coordinator, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Agricultural Production Specialist, Finance and Procurement roles, ICT4D Specialist, Gender and Social Inclusion Specialist, and Administrative and Human Resource Officer. Successful applicants will work from Abuja and travel regularly to Sokoto, Kebbi, Jigawa, Zamfara, Borno, Katsina, Yobe, Bauchi and Kano. Most senior and specialist roles require a relevant Master's degree, professional certifications where applicable, and significant experience in development projects. Successful candidates will receive a two-year contract, renewable subject to performance, with remuneration based on approved FGN, IFAD and AFD salary scales. Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest, including a detailed CV and tailored application letter, to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in Abuja by 12:00 noon on September 6, 2026.
