Wike: Fasting and Prayers Over Road Funding Gave Me High Blood Pressure

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike said he fasted and prayed to secure funding for key road projects in Abuja. He revealed that the stress of sourcing money raised his blood pressure. Speaking at the commissioning of the Airport Expressway to Kuje road, an event marking President Tinubu’s third year in office, Wike thanked God for answering their prayers. He recalled urging the FCT managing director and contractors to prioritise funds for the Kuje–Gwagwalada dualisation, joking that every discussion about money spiked his BP. Wike said he had never fasted like this before but committed to fasting from morning till night until the project was completed.
