Nigerian Woman in UK Says She Was Fired After Posting About Colleague’s Layoff

A Nigerian woman living in the UK says she was dismissed after she posted a video about a colleague who had been laid off. She said she was asked to go home when she arrived at work. According to her, her manager said the colleague had sent the video to the company and claimed it caused him mental distress. The woman said she made the video to raise awareness and had received permission from her workplace before posting it. She also denied making the content for money, saying she has not earned from her social-media posts.
