Retired DSS Officer Apologises to DG Over Leaked Internal Matter, Demands Retraction

A retired Department of State Services officer, Nwaogu Ihechimere Ezeakolam, has apologised to DSS Director-General Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi and the association of retired DSS officers over an internal matter he took to the media. In a letter dated September 22, Ezeakolam said publicising the matter was an error of judgement. He said he regretted any embarrassment caused to the DSS leadership and asked that the matter be resolved internally. Through his lawyer, he also asked the online publication that carried the earlier report to publish his response and retract any claims that are inaccurate or unsupported. The letter, dated October 16, gave the outlet seven days to respond before he considers legal action.
