Teenage Trafficking Survivor Details Brutal Sex Slavery in Lagos

A 16-year-old girl from Imo State has recounted her harrowing experience of being trafficked to Lagos and forced into prostitution. She says she was lured by a woman who promised her office work. Upon arrival at Balogun Market, she was stripped, sedated and made to serve up to 60 men a day. She earned only a fraction of the fees paid and was beaten whenever she asked clients to use protection. After a violent attack, the teenager escaped and was rescued by a good Samaritan near Surulere. The Lagos State Police have arrested two suspects and rescued 13 underage girls. The police commissioner warns the syndicate targets vulnerable minors aged 13 to 15.
