US Approves Additional $1 Million for Nepal Flood Victim Identification
The United States has approved an additional $1 million to help Nepal identify victims of devastating floods. The new support brings total US assistance after the disaster to more than $5 million. The funding will provide forensic support to Nepal Police, including DNA analysis kits. FBI specialists are also assisting with disaster victim identification to help families receive answers. Earlier US aid includes emergency food, shelter, health services, water and sanitation support for flood-affected communities. The response also includes recovery supplies, first-aid kits and logistical support for areas cut off by the floods.
