1 / 4

Early Wednesday in Ridawa village, Ghari Local Government Area of Kano State, a pit dug for brick-making suddenly caved in, trapping an unspecified number of workers underground. Reports suggest several may have died while others suffered injuries. Local residents and emergency teams have launched rescue operations to free those still buried beneath the rubble. The member representing Ghari/Tsanyawa Federal Constituency, Sani Bala, confirmed about ten people remain trapped and called for urgent government intervention. The Kano State Fire Service says it has not yet received an official report but will share details once available.
