Pastor Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has urged the Anambra State Government to fully sponsor qualified indigent residents for Christian pilgrimage. He made the appeal during a visit by officials of the Anambra Pilgrims Office to his church in Onitsha. He said free pilgrimage opportunities could motivate beneficiaries to become more responsible citizens and contribute positively to society. The Pilgrims Office said it is pursuing initiatives including a proposed pilgrimage exchange programme and a lottery scheme to widen access and support religious tourism. Officials also announced that registration for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage is open.
