Israeli Envoy’s Starlink Video Draws Nearly 40% of Its Instagram Views From Iran

A video showing Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon offering a Starlink device to an Iranian representative has attracted about 9 million views across social media, according to analytics shared by his office. The Iranian representative declined the device. Instagram data reportedly showed that 39.9% of viewers were in Iran, ahead of the United States, Israel, Canada and Germany. As the clip gained attention, a separate 2023 video of former Israeli ambassador Gilad Erdan being escorted from the UN General Assembly was recirculated as though it were a new incident. Danon’s office described the reposts as an attempt to distort the story.
