Four Police Officers, Seven Civilians Killed as Bandits Attack Benue Community
Four police officers and seven civilians were killed after suspected armed bandits attacked Ayilamo Community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State on September 10. Police said the attackers invaded the community at about 6:12 p.m. Officers from PMF units, tactical teams and conventional divisions responded and fought the assailants for about seven hours. The command said the attackers were forced to retreat into nearby forest areas after suffering casualties. Additional tactical teams have been deployed to reinforce security, while search and rescue operations continue in the area.
