Why Christians Must Reject Pagan Traditions
Any culture or custom that does not glorify God conflicts with our faith. The Bible warns that God’s people should have no part in idolatry (2 Corinthians 6:16–17). We cannot claim to follow Christ while sponsoring or participating in masquerades, Ifá, New Yam festivals, or other rituals rooted in pagan beliefs. Just as God separated Paul from his ancestral traditions (Galatians 1:14–15), we must choose between the ways of men and the path of righteousness. The day we accept Jesus should mark our commitment to His will alone. No festival or ritual outside Christ can connect us to God or secure our salvation. May the Lord give us wisdom to stand firm in Him and walk in holiness. Amen.
