Umahi Inspects Benin-Agbor-Asaba Road, Apologises to Stranded Commuters

Minister of Works David Umahi has inspected the congested Benin-Agbor-Asaba Expressway after President Bola Tinubu ordered urgent action to ease the hardship faced by motorists. Umahi met with lawmakers and other stakeholders in Benin to discuss immediate repairs and lasting solutions for the busy Edo-Delta corridor. The Federal Government also deployed an intervention team to the damaged Ifaki-Kabba-Ado Ekiti road linking Ekiti and Kogi states. The minister apologised to commuters who have spent hours or days stranded on the affected roads. He said the response would include emergency relief measures and permanent work to improve the roads' reliability. The inspection follows recent protests by motorists and residents over the poor condition of the Benin-Agbor bypass.
