The Abia State Government has paid ₦25 million directly to the hospital treating veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu, according to the governor’s senior special assistant on tourism and entertainment. Nwosu had appealed for public support after disclosing that she needed ₦30 million for three urgent surgeries. The 62-year-old actress said she had been hospitalised for three weeks and could no longer meet the cost of treatment. The payment follows the state government’s reported promise to support her medical care.
