Isaac James Says He Cried After Receiving First Super Eagles Call-Up

Alverca defender Isaac James says he was overwhelmed with emotion after receiving his first invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau. The 22-year-old is one of three new players invited by head coach Éric Chelle, alongside Moses Usor and George Ilenikhena. James said representing Nigeria has always been a dream, but he did not expect the call-up to come so soon. He said his family and teammates were excited by the news, adding that he received several congratulatory calls after the announcement.
