Leaked DSS Memo Warns of Planned Boko Haram Attacks and Kidnappings in Adamawa, Borno

A leaked DSS intelligence memo dated July 27, 2026, has warned of planned Boko Haram attacks in Michika LGA, Adamawa State, and Askira Uba LGA, Borno State. The alert follows the reported collapse of a ceasefire arrangement involving the affected state governments. The memo said the insurgents may target government officials, councillors, district heads, pastors and other residents. It specifically warned of an alleged plan to abduct the district head of Michika and his son. According to the alert, surveillance teams have already been deployed ahead of the planned operations. The DSS urged troops, forest guards and local hunters to strengthen security in the affected communities and prevent the attacks.
