Dangote Plans to Commit One-Third of His Estate to Charity
Aliko Dangote plans to dedicate one-third of his estate to charity as part of his family succession plan, according to his daughter, Halima Dangote. Halima, a trustee of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, said the family has agreed that 33 per cent of his inheritance should support philanthropy across generations. The foundation’s work is focused largely on health and education. With Dangote’s wealth estimated at about $35.1 billion, one-third would be roughly $11.7 billion at its current value. Halima said the commitment reflects his belief that giving back is central to his legacy and business success.
