Judy Austin Sues Ex-Husband Emmanuel Obasi Over Alleged Defamation, Seeks N1bn
Actress Judy Austin has filed a defamation suit against her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja. In the suit, she is seeking N1 billion in general damages over statements she alleges were defamatory. She also asked the court to order a full retraction and apology in at least two national newspapers and on Obasi’s social-media platforms. Austin further wants the alleged defamatory posts removed and a restraining order preventing further publications. The filing also includes separate claims for aggravated and exemplary damages, as well as legal costs.
