Greek Woman, 54, Gives Birth Using Embryo Frozen for 22 Years

A 54-year-old woman in Greece has given birth to a baby girl after using an embryo that had been frozen for more than 22 years. The embryo was part of the same IVF batch that led to the birth of her son in 2004. The family lost him in a road accident in October 2025 at the age of 21. She underwent the embryo transfer in December, just before reaching Greece's legal age limit for IVF treatment. The family said the baby's arrival has brought joy after a period of deep mourning.
