Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates Major Electrification Upgrade in Badagry Border Communities
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially commissioned a series of high-capacity power projects across Badagry’s border towns. The works include three new tower crossings, rehabilitation of 33KV lines on the Gbaji–Seme and Owode–Apa routes, and the connection of 51 transformer substations. Speaking through Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the governor said this project forms part of the THEMES+ agenda. He noted it would restore confidence, extend business hours for traders, and boost productivity for artisans and small manufacturers. Sanwo-Olu also highlighted the new Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission as a key tool for improving power supply. He urged residents to protect the infrastructure from vandalism to ensure lasting benefits for homes, schools, hospitals, and cross-border trade in the region.
