Double Standards in World Cup Penalties: No Outcry for France or Portugal

Portugal earned a penalty when they needed a goal. France did the same in their match. Yet there was no talk of rigging. If Argentina had received identical calls, social media would have exploded before the final whistle. We only seem to protest when our preferred team loses out. Penalties happen when defenders are under intense pressure. Mistakes are bound to occur at crucial moments. It’s ironic that fairness is applied differently depending on who benefits. Every team deserves the same standard of judgment.
