CPTA Disputes Auchi Polytechnic Certificate Fee Protest Report, Says Charge Is ₦35,000
The Centre for Peace, Transparency and Accountability has challenged reports that Auchi Polytechnic graduates staged a protest over certificate collection charges. The group said it found no verifiable evidence of an organised protest. At a press briefing, CPTA said the compulsory certificate fee is ₦35,000. It added that a ₦10,000 brochure is optional, putting the maximum payment at ₦45,000 rather than the reported ₦50,000. The group urged the polytechnic to clearly explain all approved charges to graduating students. It also called on media organisations to verify claims and give relevant parties an opportunity to respond before publication.
