After Political Setback, Olivia University Founder Becomes Rotary Charter President

Sir Paul Chukwuma, founder of Olivia University in Burundi, emerged as Charter President of Rotary Club Umueri in Anambra East. In his induction speech, he expressed regrets over heavy political investments that yielded little development in his Omambala home region. He recounted how funds and efforts spent on party campaigns failed to touch lives as intended. He asked what will become of gifts if they do not benefit the community and pledged to channel his resources into Rotary initiatives. The district governor highlighted this year’s Rotary International theme, “creating lasting impact,” and stressed that every Nigerian child must access education and healthcare. The ceremony brought together top Rotarians, academics and community leaders.
