Bimbo Akintola has spoken about Funke Akindele’s early struggles in Nollywood, saying the filmmaker spent years working without getting the opportunity to fully shine. Speaking at a masterclass hosted by Femi Adebayo, Bimbo said Funke remained persistent despite the setbacks. She later moved into the Yoruba film industry, began acting and producing more projects, and achieved widespread recognition with Jenifa. Bimbo said Funke’s success was not overnight, urging aspiring actors and filmmakers to understand the years of hard work, rejection and consistency behind her career.
