UNIZIK Safety Department Honours Former Chiefs, Seeks Better Security Logistics
Nnamdi Azikiwe University’s Safety Department held a send-forth ceremony for former Chief Safety Officers and presented awards to staff, security partners and other supporters. Speakers praised past officers for helping to maintain peace between the university and host communities, reduce campus crime and cultism, and strengthen cooperation with security agencies. The department also highlighted security gaps across UNIZIK’s four campuses. It called for patrol vehicles, communication equipment, officer training, insurance cover, perimeter-fence repairs and recruitment of younger personnel to improve rapid response.
