Djokovic Enters Basel as He Chases ATP Finals Qualification

Novak Djokovic has entered the ATP 500 event in Basel as he steps up his bid to qualify for the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin. The Serbian, who has played a reduced schedule in recent years while pursuing a record 25th Grand Slam title, recently won the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing. He then suffered an early exit at the Shanghai Masters against Hubert Hurkacz. Djokovic is 11th in the live Race to Turin. With Jannik Sinner ending his season early because of a knee injury, the top nine qualification places remain within reach. Djokovic said he hopes to compete at the ATP Finals and plans to play Basel and Paris during the indoor swing.
