Glasgow 2026: Adama, Ebingha and Nigerian 400m Runners Reach Semifinals

Abduljabar Adama and Colins Ebingha have qualified for the men’s 50m butterfly semifinal at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. Adama clocked 23.99 seconds to finish fourth in his heat, while Ebingha placed fifth in 24.01 seconds. Nigeria will also be represented in the women’s 400m semifinal by Patience Okon-George and Esther Joseph. Okon-George ran 53.27 seconds to finish fourth in her heat, while Joseph took third in 52.82 seconds. In the men’s 400m, Edidiong Udo won his heat in 45.73 seconds to join Samuel Ogazi in the semifinal. Team Nigeria are fifth on the medal table with six gold and four silver medals.
