Edo Police Launches Massive Manhunt After Cattle Dealer Abducted on Igarra-Auchi Expressway
On July 7, around 6:30 p.m., gunshots were reported near the Geo-Work Factory on the Igarra-Auchi expressway in Edo State. Police quickly deployed officers after receiving a distress call. Preliminary investigations indicate that Oga Peter, a cattle dealer from Ososo Community, was kidnapped by men in military camouflage. The Commissioner of Police has mobilised the anti-kidnapping squad, the Violent Crime Response Unit, and the Drone Unit to lead the rescue. Security forces are working with the Nigerian Army, Edo State Security Corps and local hunters. The public is urged to share any relevant information with the nearest police station or via the command’s hotlines.
