Abuja Police Reconstruct How 'One Chance' Syndicate Kidnapped and Killed Two Nurses
The Federal Capital Territory Police Force paraded members of the One Chance syndicate accused of abducting, torturing and killing two nurses in Abuja. During a crime scene reconstruction, suspects reenacted how they lured female passengers into commercial vehicles, overpowered them with knives, then tied and blindfolded them before demanding ransom. Investigations reveal that Nurse Chinenye Bridget Abia was kidnapped while commuting and her family paid ₦3.5 million, but she was still killed near Katanpi Bridge. Another nurse, Chinemerem Chukwumezie, also lost her life about a month earlier in a similar attack. A survivor of the gang described the lasting trauma she endures whenever entering a vehicle and recounted losing over ₦11.5 million and other valuables during her ordeal.
