NPFL Summons Sporting Lagos Coach Buter Over Referee Criticism

Sporting Lagos coach Jeffrey Buter has been summoned by the Nigeria Premier Football League after criticising the officiating in his side’s 1-1 home draw with Barau FC. The match was played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos. Buter questioned the performance of referee Abubakar Abdullahi after the final whistle. The NPFL said Buter is expected at its Abuja headquarters this week. League authorities also reminded coaches and club officials to submit complaints about officiating through the proper administrative channels rather than public comments.
