Private Jet En Route to Yadier Molina Crashes in Dominican Republic, Two Crew Members Killed
A Gulfstream G200 executive jet crashed minutes after takeoff from La Romana International Airport in the Dominican Republic on June 7. The US-registered plane had reported problems moments into its flight to Austin and was attempting an emergency return. The pilot and co-pilot were the only people onboard and both died in the crash. Video from the runway shows the jet engulfed in flames and rising black smoke as emergency teams worked to control the fire. St. Louis Cardinals legend Yadier Molina, who was due to board the flight with his family in Texas, expressed his condolences on social media. Dominican authorities have opened an investigation with specialized agencies to determine the cause of the emergency landing.
