Tinubu Dissolves Federal Property Committee Over Mounting Litigation
President Bola Tinubu has dissolved the Presidential Implementation Committee on the Alienation of Federal Government Properties, ending the operations of the body created in 2000 to oversee the sale, lease and privatisation of federal landed assets. The Presidency said the committee’s activities had gone beyond its original mandate and resulted in multiple court cases across the country. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, will now coordinate all matters connected to the committee. The directive took effect on November 5, 2025. The committee’s former secretary has also been instructed to stop acting for the dissolved body or the Federal Government on related matters.
