Tinubu Tells Adeleke: ‘God Put You There’ After Osun Re-election
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, urging him to govern all residents and promote unity across the state. Adeleke visited the Presidential Villa in Abuja after the August 15 governorship election and presented his Certificate of Return. Tinubu said the victory should not be treated as a conquest over political opponents. “You did not conquer anybody; you won the election. That is the essence of democracy,” Tinubu said. He advised Adeleke not to victimise those who opposed him and urged him to use his second term to strengthen peace, reconciliation, the rule of law and development in Osun. Tinubu also reflected on his own political journey, saying that both he and Adeleke were placed in their positions by God and supported by the people.
