2027: ACF Says Presidential Hopefuls Must Face Scrutiny Over Their Past

The Arewa Consultative Forum says anyone seeking to lead Nigeria in 2027 must be ready for thorough public scrutiny. The group argues that voters have a right to examine candidates’ educational background, personal history, integrity and consistency. ACF Publicity Secretary, Prof. Tukur Baba, said the debate should not focus only on whether a candidate can produce certificates. He said Nigerians should also ask whether the person’s full story is credible, transparent and consistent. Baba noted that the Constitution may not require documentary proof for every stage of a candidate’s education, but said leadership demands accountability. He added that Nigerians ultimately want leaders who can improve healthcare, education, housing, transport, security and household welfare.
